New research has emerged showing that TMS can be used to treat much more than depression. It has been reported, in the article below from PsychCentral, that researchers have observed positive effects in treating anxiety disorders using TMS in combination with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

In this study, participants were administered 20 minutes of TMS followed by exposure therapy. The group in comparison received a placebo treatment.  The participants who received the actual TMS treatment prior to exposure therapy showed an accelerated progress in response to the exposure therapy.
